Offering Gentle Therapeutic Relaxation Massage blending techniques from Swedish Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Esalen Massage and Deep Bodywork Therapeutic Massage. Designed to reset the nervous system into a parasympathetic space and promote feelings of rest and ease while still offering therapeutic benefits and pain reduction.

What is Swedish Massage?

Swedish Massage is the classic relaxing full body massage with long, gliding, gentle strokes to help the body improve circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, and greater flexibility

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on technique that uses light touch to examine membranes and movement of the fluids in and around the central nervous system. Using a light touch, the therapist is able to relieve tension in the central nervous system to help promote well-being and pain reduction.

What is Esalen Massage?

Esalen Massage is a gentle, fluid massage that encourages an inward journey. Through long strokes, a slow pace and pauses, the client is invited to return to a natural state of balance and alignment. Transformation occurs not through deep-tissue work but rather through an active participation between client and therapist. As the therapist’s hands direct the client’s attention, this awareness evokes relaxation and change. Then deeper, more specific work can be applied as needed.

What is Deep BodyWork Therapeutic Massage?

Deep Bodywork is a set of deep tissue techniques created by Perry & Johanna Holloman over the last 25 years at Esalen Institute.

It integrates the qualities of a flowing massage with the therapeutic effectiveness of deep tissue work. Using deep tissue methods, a practitioner slowly and gently accesses the body’s deeper soft tissue layers, freeing previously dense, hardened areas, which may have become chronically painful due to a lack of fluid exchange and energy flow.

As these areas soften and “re-organize,” their chronic tension patterns release, revitalizing living tissues with blood, lymph, and chi (life) energy. Because living systems like the human body require a constant flow of chi energy to self-organize and heal, blockages to that flow within our tissues can create longer-term health problems like joint and soft tissue pain, movement restrictions, and circulatory problems.

As chronic tension patterns held in the deeper soft tissue layers begin to open and change (often called unwinding) reservoirs of previously held life energy become available to promote the process of healing. This energy can help clients overcome stubborn, seemingly intractable physical conditions.

The Deep Tissue component of Deep Bodywork, when applied slowly, is one of the most effective means available for alleviating acute and chronic suffering.
